Brazil to Host Amputee Football World Cup
in September 2009
Neteroi, Brazil 31 March - WAFF President Ademmir Cruz today announced Brazil will host the 2009 World Cup September 5 - 20 in the city of Nova Friburgo, Brazil.
National teams may express their intent to play in the tournament beginning today through August 25, 2009. No enrollments will be accepted after August 25, 2009.
Participating teams must send the inscriptions list of 12 players, 1 coach, 1 sub-coach, 1 doctor or physiotherapist, 1 team manager and 1 referee.
Please also name your country's delegate to the Congress. Other individuals travelling with the team will have to afford all expenses such as lodging and meals by themselves.
Teams may arrive at the Galão Airport, Rio de Janeiro City, on September 5 and 6, with the opening of the 2009 World Championship to be held on September 7.
Tournament organizers must know the arrival day and time of each team to coordinate transportation to Nova Friburgo. That information is necessary no later than August 25. Teams are to return to their countries on the 20th of the same month.
